In the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, you ‘ll find an underground world that will take your breath away. The Shenandoah Caverns is a must for geology enthusiast! Here you will find beautiful crystalline formations along the one-mile tour circuit. One of the formations, “Breakfast Bacon” has appeared in National Geographic magazine.
Another great feature of this cavern was that it had an elevator which came in handy since my parents accompanied my son and me on this trip. Our tour guide was excellent, and we enjoyed the underground wonder.
